Host Franz Ladinser laughs heartily. Hospitality runs in the veins of the Orso Grigio, the traditional 4-star hotel in the centre of San Candido, closed to the Tre Cime in the Dolomites: over 500 years ago pilgrims and merchants stopped at the inn, the oldest accommodation in this historic place in Alta Pusteria in South Tyrol. Since 1745 the house has been in the family. Today, Franz Ladinser and his daughter Verena are the 9th and 10th generation of the family to run it.
The hotel now also focuses on sustainability, using environmentally friendly materials and regional products to actively contribute to environmental conservation. Nevertheless, the historic charm of the hotel remains intact.
The Orso Grigio is a small, chic hotel in the traffic-free town center, which is characterized by excellent cuisine and a first-class wine cellar.

The 4-star Hotel Orso Grigio in San Candido boasts a very long tradition. The late-Gothic reception hall and the Biedermeier parlor bear witness to its past. The modern design of the dining room and the café set contemporary counterpoints. Its 28 rooms combine historical flair and today’s linearity and offer every comfort.
